I like this one. It's less subtle. Will it be the intro and then just the fuming letters, or will it loop? The flames look a little pixelated to my eye. Was that a sacrifice you had to make to get the file size down to render fluidly on the web?

Thanks for the comment alexluna! I think this will be used for video. The website will use the ember graphic on black (limited to black because of a Safari bug-although this is for use on the non-flash version of the site) and this is the logo for video intros–tying the two together and reinforcing brand identity.

There's still the problem of the desired "demon" that has been used for the band for 10 years (tattoos and all!) And I'm still struggling with that element. The only thing I like that I have done with the thing is an .ico. I suck.

To answer your question RE: flames/pixelated. No. That is due to the poor quality asset that I used. The .mov file is better than this .swf (which was first a .flv) but it still is riddled with artifacts.

It's good to see you on campus. I loved having you on my wing. Neither Noah or Tom have as much zing.

I love the simplicity of it. That's the nice thing about blogs, when they're left alone and over stuffed with elements. The style and size of the text is nice too, I actually read it (when it's bigger it's easier to scan). I'm doing some of this in my clients site too. Keep me updated, I'll keep checking to see what you come up with. Remember, simple is so stark and refreshing with all the clutter out there, it's in-your-face and totally rockstar!
